Bead Embroidery Arrow DIY Valentines Card
Not a fan of hearts for Valentines day? How about this bead embroidery arrow design, perfect for a DIY Valentines card topper!
You Will Need:
-red felt fabric
-20 x size 8 seed beads, silver lined crystal
-8 x 7mm bugle beads, silver lined crystal
-size 10 beading needle
-nymo beading thread
-scissors
-blank greetings card
-fabric glue
How To:
1.Cut out a piece of felt to fit your card- my blank card is 10x15 cm, so a piece of felt 5x7 cm fits perfectly. Thread a size 10 beading needle with an arms length of beading thread and tie a knot in the end. Bring the needle up through the felt.
2.Thread on the 20 size 8 seed beads, lay the out in a line so they sit flush on the felt. Take the needle down through the felt to secure. Optional: to make the line of beads sit better and more securely, you can use a beaded backstitch or couching method, but they are not essential.
3.Bring the needle through the felt to the front underneath the the end bead and thread on 1 bugle. Stitch it down at a 45 degree angle.
5.Repeat step 4 on the other side to complete the arrow head.
6.At the other end of the line of beads, stitch another two bugle beads in the same fashion, this time, about 4 beads from the end.
7.Repeat step 6 a further 2 times, moving towards the end of the line of seed beads, Secure the thread on the back to finish.
8.To attach to a blank card, use some fabric glue, spread very thinly on the back and allow to dry!
